New retail line touches on the long-history of the national park

BOZEMAN, M.T. (August 13, 2007) ? Delaware North Companies Parks & Resorts at Yellowstone National Park recently developed a new retail line which touts the park’s natural history. Proceeds from merchandise sales will help to raise money for the Museum of the Rockies at Montana State University. 

Displaying the tag line “Yellow(stone) 4.6 Billion Years in the Making”, a collection of t-shirts, hats, and key chains has been created to be sold at various Yellowstone National Park retail locations. A portion of the proceeds from every Yellow(stone) item sold will benefit the local, non-profit museum. 

According to Derek Zwickey, regional general manager of Delaware North Companies Parks & Resorts at Yellowstone, “Not only have we created a great new line of retail, but we’ve done it in a way which will benefit a wonderful museum that pays tribute to the Yellowstone area and its history.” 

The Museum of the Rockies is a one-of-a-kind place which houses one of the world’s largest collections of dinosaur fossils. The Museum of the Rockies was born in 1957 when Dr. Caroline McGill founded it as a gift to the people of the Rockies. Currently, the museum houses 300,000 objects and 500,000,000 years of history. 

“This museum is a tangible link to millions of years of history,” stated Zwickey. “It tells the story of our world and in so many ways, the story of mankind. We are excited about helping to fund this innovative historical museum.” 

In just one day at the museum, visitors can learn about startling new discoveries in paleontology, experience what it was like to live as a pioneer and/or explore the greater Yellowstone region’s Native American history. 

A portion of the proceeds from the Yellow(stone) line will support the museum. To help Delaware North Parks and Resorts at Yellowstone’s efforts grow, the company will annually change the retail line’s logos and develop new products to keep visitors interested in making purchases and contributing to this worthwhile cause.
